Arriva is part of Deutsche Bahn AG, a leading worldwide provider of transport and logistics services. Based in Berlin, Deutsche Bahn was founded in 1994. Today, it operates in more than 130 countries around the world and employs nearly 300,000 people in more than 300 different occupations. Arriva’s role is to grow and develop all Deutsche Bahn’s regional passenger transport outside of Germany.

Our mission statement is simple: to be a customer-orientated, likeable, resource-saving and economically successful company. To find out more, visit the Deutsche Bahn website.

DB Bahn is a leading provider in the European passenger transport market, delivering 4 billion passenger journeys a year on regional, urban and long-distance passenger transport across Europe.

DB Netze operates the biggest rail network in Europe, managing 5,000 train stations and track totaling 61,000 km.

DB Schenker is the second biggest worldwide provider of transport and logistics services, delivering 415 million tonnes of freight via rail each year. We are also responsible for air and sea freight, as well as 81 million shipments sent via European land transport annually.

Our core business is the railway in Germany. Our passenger transport segment carries nearly 5.4 million customers every day, and we also ship more than 670,000 tons of freight. Deutsche Bahn operates more than 30,000 train runs daily on its approximately 33,500 kilometre-long, modern rail network, which is also open to competition.

Our bus operations are every bit as broad. Nearly two million customers travel via DB buses in Germany every day. And our passenger transport division, DB Group, transports in its trains and buses Europe-wide (including Germany) over 11 million passengers daily.

Looking further, our worldwide networks transport over 1.1 million tons of airfreight and more than 1.9 million TEU of ocean freight every year.

DB Group offers mobility and logistical services globally and operates in over 130 countries worldwide. Every day, our 194,000 employees in Germany work to ensure that customers are provided with mobility and logistical services and that the related rail, road, ocean and air traffic networks are operated and controlled efficiently. In return, we offer them outstanding opportunities for training and development.

Deutsche Bahn’s vision is to become the world's leading mobility and logistics company, by offering innovative solutions, focusing on intelligent integration and setting the standards for quality and customer service in its markets. As well as internationalising the network of all transport modes, the main focus of DB’s strategy is on developing end-to-end travel and logistical chains across all modes of transport.

This is how we aim to meet the changing requirements of the markets, which are increasingly demanding efficient and environmentally compatible services from a single provider. Whether it is globalisation, climate change, and scarcity of resources or deregulation - we pride ourselves on being able to provide answers.
